2003 Chamber Golf Tournament

During one of the wettest Mays in history, Mother Nature
smiled on the Chamber of Commerce 25th Annual Golf Tournament on May
19th. Sixty-four golfers came out to enjoy the beautiful course at
Houston Oaks. Before the 1:00 tee time, the golfers were served lunch, which
included delicious hamburgers grilled by Danny Ankeny of CMC/CLA, using
top-quality Angus beef donated by Chamber Director Ralph Quillin. (Mr.
Quillin’s grain-fed Angus beef will be available for sale to the public by the
end of the summer). Several other Chamber directors
and
members donated food and drinks, including WalMart and Hospice of the
Bluegrass.
Each golfer received a goody bag with a Hospice golf towel, a Hinkle Contracting compact disc case, a Rector-Hayden cookbook, Papa John’s coupons, Kentucky Bank golf tees, and several other goodies.
We wish to thank everyone who donated items to the silent auction, which went very well. Hinkle Contracting donated Keeneland and Churchill Downs boxes, Bourbon Limestone donated a load of rock, 730 Main donated dinner for two, Perico’s donated dinner for two, Frames on Main gave a framed horse print, Holli’s Housewarming gave a golf-themed picture frame, Total Relaxation donated two decorative incense bottles, Loch Lea Antiques gave a German drinking stein, Monessen Hearth Systems gave some gas logs, and the Kentucky Horse Park donated four tickets to the “All the Queen’s Horses” exhibit. There were several other items donated by a “Friend of the Chamber.”

Our golf tournament wouldn’t be nearly so successful a fundraiser without our wonderful sponsors. Our corporate sponsors, at $200 each, were James R. Leake & Son, Inc., Kentucky Bank, and Toyota Motor Manufacturing. Our hole sponsors, at $50 each, were A-Action Pest Control, Bluegrass Federal Savings, Bourbon Community Hospital, Bourbon Heights, CMC/CLA, Daugherty & Ferguson, Hinkle Contracting, Mallinckrodt-Baker, Monessen Hearth Systems, NetGain Technologies, Panther II Transportation, Papa John’s Pizza, Peoples Exchange Bank, Ramset/RedHead, Sutherland Realty, Thomas Woodford Insurance, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Van Dyne Crotty, Westview & Hillside Farms, and Winn Hutchcraft. THANK YOU ALL so very much. You keep the Chamber of Commerce and its programs running!
